Description: A superb pair of George III carved giltwood oval mirrors. The crest in the form of a Ho-Ho bird sitting on an acanthus carved perch support by columns and a shaped urn. The oval silvered plates are bordered by a carved frame with pierced scrolls and entwined acanthus carved leaves, with a lower crest co-joined with C-scrolls and a central carved acanthus leaf.
A fabulous pair of mirrors, of substantial size with exquisite carving and detailing throughout.
Condition: Excellent. Minor restorations, sympathetic recent re-gilding. The mirror plates later.
