Description: A fine English George II walnut & beech framed wing back armchair of excellent shape & proportions. The back with arched top flanked by out swept side wings, scrolling downwards to form armrests which terminate in an elegant rolled arm and with a needlework to the front and silk to the back.. The seat section with needlework covered cushion, supported on walnut cabriole front and rear legs terminating in a pad shaped foot. A chair of a particularly good shape and elegant form, being generous enough in proportions yet remaining compact in size.
Condition: Excellent. Possible minor old restorations. The later needlework is probably 19th century.
