Further Information: The firm of S. Jamar located at 29 Wardour St. Soho, London from 1818 specialized in making furniture in the French manner. His advertisement claimed that his furniture was "equal to any made in Paris, and at a rate that upon calculation will be admitted considerably advantageous than importing from abroad, also without incurring the risk of being damage on the journey." By 1819 he also began trading in Liverpool and had moved his London address to 37 Gerard St. Soho. A number of stamped pieces are illustrated by Christopher Gilbert, Pictorial Dictionary of marked London Furniture, 1700-1840.

This table also bears a close comparison with the work of George Bullock who popularized the use of boulle style brass-inlaid bandings and panels to his furniture.
