Description: “Peonies” a large, characterful observation of a bunch of peonies arranged in a vase sitting in the St Ives studio of Cornish artist Julian Rowe. Painted in a post impressionist style, sunlight streams in from above creating a wonderful and enthralling effect. A large and hugely impactful painting.
Further Information: Julian Rowe was born in Penzance, Cornwall in 1963, educated in the Humphrey Davy Grammar School and went on to study graphic design and illustration at Cornwall College. He was tutored by renowned figurative painter John Raynes and after college went on to work as graphic artist and illustrator, whilst in his spare time developing his own personal style in oils. In 2010 he quit the day job to become a full time artist and has exhibited in Cornwall, London and Portugal. Julian constantly develops and refines his techniques and is highly influenced by light and scenic mood, making his work spontaneous and atmospheric.
