Description: A rare Queen Anne figured walnut compact kneehole bureau, retaining excellent colour and patina. The top of rectangular form with feather banded edge. The fall with lovely booked matched veneers, cross and feather banded, opening to reveal a leather lined writing surface with a central well and an arrangement of drawers and pigeon holes. Below, a central arched centre section, with central door bordered each side by three feather banded oak lined drawers fitted with gilt brass plate drop handles. The bureau is supported on four bun feet to the front and two to the rear.
Further Information: Dinton Hall dates from the 1500's and has recently undergone a large renovation project. One of the grandest English Country houses.
Condition: Excellent. Minor old repairs and restorations, feet probably replaced, waxing.
