Description: "The Colwyn at Beddgelert" is a characteristically finely detailed, accurately observed and atmospheric evening scene set in North Wales by renowned 19th century painter Alfred de Bréanski.

Further Information: Born in Greenwich (London) in 1852, the eldest son of Leopold de Bréanski, Alfred became famous for his paintings of British landscapes. His prolific output included views of the River Thames (where he kept a houseboat) and also Scottish and Welsh mountain landscapes. Of particular note are spectacular paintings of Scottish lochs at sunset. He exhibited at the Royal Academy between 1872 and 1890, and also at the Society of British Artists on Suffolk Street. He had seven children including two sons who also became painters - Arthur and Alfred Fontville de Bréanski.

Condition: Excellent. The picture has been lightly cleaned.
