Description: A fine George III Sheraton period serpentine sideboard, retaining excellent original colour and patina.
The well figured mahogany top of serpentine outline to the front and sides, cross-banded with tulipwood and strung with box. The serpentine shaped front with central tulipwood banded and box strung drawer, flanked either side by additional double height drawers, both lead lined, one compartmentalised for holding bottles, both again tulipwood banded and strung with box. All drawers fitted with apparently the original brass ring handles. The drawers are interspersed by the front upper leg columns, which are flute inset with satinwood.
The sideboard is supported by six square section tapering legs with inset box stringing and terminating in a spade foot. This superb piece is in lovely original condition throughout.
Condition: Restorations to the lead linings in each drawer, waxing. Brassware apparently original.
