George III mahogany library arm chair

Description: A fine George III mahogany library elbow arm chair. The back with serpentine shaped top rail and gently waisted sides. The arms in the shape of a shepherd’s crook, emanate from the chair back and flow round and down in a delightful curving form.

The seat of rectangular shape and tapering slightly towards the rear. The chair is supported on square section legs, the rear of which continuing the curvature of the chair back. The legs are united by an H-shaped cross stretcher.

The chair has been recently re-upholstered and is covered in a period pattern green damask silk fabric.

Condition: Excellent. Possible minor old restorations. Recent green silk damask fabric.
