Description: A fine George II Irish Cuban mahogany tray top silver table of compact dimensions. The rectangular top with rounded corners and carved lip to the edge, over a frieze with scroll cut apron and carved shell to the centre.
The table is supported by elegant cabriole legs with acanthus carved knees and a hairy paw foot. The table retains an excellent dark original colour and has good patina throughout.
Further Information: Actress Margaret Rawlings, was a hit playing Lady MacBeth and a myriad of other parts on both sides of the Atlantic during the 1930?s. Her wartime marriage to Metal Box chairman and passionate collector Sir Robert Barlow, encouraged her interest in collecting and latterly saw her making her home in Wendover, Buckinghamshire.
Condition: Excellent. Possible minor old restorations, waxing.
