Description: A superb George I carved walnut wing back armchair.
The tall backrest with well shaped sides scrolling down seamlessly to well accentuated out-scrolled arms. The chair has elegant front cabriole legs with a crisply carved shell with bell flowers and scroll edges to the knees, terminating in a pad foot. The back legs out swept and again terminating in a square section pad foot.
The covering is a fabulous 18th century crewelwork, although not originally with the chair it is of a contemporary period to it.
Condition: Excellent. Possible minor old restorations, waxing to the legs. The upholstery recently re-placed however the covering crewel work is 18th century.
