George I figured walnut kneehole desk

Description: A fine George I figured walnut & feather banded kneehole desk, of excellent original colour & patina. The rectangular top, quarter veneered, feather and cross banded with a moulded edge. Below an arrangement of one long over two pairs of three short feather banded, beaded and oak lined drawers, fitted with original brassware and locks. The central recess with a drawer to the top and a central kneehole cupboard compartment with shelf. The kneehole is supported to the front by a pair of bracket feet, with a single bracket foot to each side at the rear.

Condition: Excellent. Minor old repairs and restorations. Feet and brassware apparently original. Splices to side veneer apparently original.
