Description: A superb good English Regency rosewood centre table probably by Gillows of Lancaster. The circular well figured top, bold gadrooned edge. The table is supported by solid rosewood tapering central column with a gadrooned top collar, flower carved bulbous centre section and boldly gadrooned lower collar over wonderful, substantial carved swooping legs with shell motifs and shell and floral knees, the table is supported on fantastically carved eagle claw and ball feet. A superb piece of substantial dimensions and wonderful quality throughout.

Further Information: Gillows of Lancaster were probably the most celebrated of all English furniture makers. They were established in the early 18th century, and pieces made by Gillows are very desirable and extremely sought after. This particular table eschews quality all over and detailing like the bold gadrooning and fabulous carved legs are all indicative of manufacture by Gillows.

Condition: Excellent. Possible minor old restorations, waxing.
