Description: A fine Queen Anne figured walnut compact chest, of excellent colour and patina. The top of rectangular form quarter veneered with applied cross-grained moulded edge, cross and feather banded. The chest with four long graduated, oak lined, cock-beaded drawers fitted with gilt brass plate handles. Beneath the bottom drawer a further cross-grain moulding around the perimeter, the chest being supported on shaped bracket feet.
Further Information: Small walnut chests such as this, are highly sought after. This chest has a particularly good patina and ‘skin’ which is commensurate with a well used yet cared for life.
Condition: Excellent. Minor old repairs and possible restorations, waxing. Locks, handles & feet apparently original.
