Description: A fine, George III, Sheraton period, mahogany, serpentine dressing commode laid with well figured veneers and of excellent colour and patina throughout. The serpentine fronted top with shaped sides, the edges banded in mahogany and strung with box.
The commode has three long, graduated oak lined, cock-beaded drawers with original brass ring plate handles and keyhole lock escutcheons. The top drawer fully fitted with an arrangement of lidded and open compartments and a central retractable mirror which is supported at various angles on a ratchet system.
The commode is of excellent quality throughout, a convenient compact size and with excellent colour and figuring.
Condition: Excellent. Minor restorations, brassware and feet apparently original.
