Description: A superb George III Sheraton period serpentine commode veneered in the finest West Indian satinwood. The top of serpentine outline to the front and sides, cross-banded with tulipwood and strung with ebony and box. The front has an arrangement of three long, graduated, oak lined drawers, ebony and box strung, cross-banded with tulip wood and fitted with brass ring handles with urn and swag backplates. The top drawer with internal baize lined retractable slide. The commode has a serpentine shaped apron to both front and sides and stands on satinwood splayed feet. Of note is the particularly good colour and patina of this piece.
Condition: Excellent. Minor old restorations, waxing. Brassware replaced, top drawer formally fitted.
