Description: A fine George I walnut & feather banded kneehole desk, of compact proportions, fine original colour & patina.
The rectangular top quarter veneered, feather and cross-banded, with an arrangement of one long over two pairs of three short feather banded, quadrant beaded and oak lined drawers, fitted with original brassware. The central recess with a feather banded door opening to reveal a cupboard compartment with shelf, with a further frieze drawer above the cupboard. Around the base the kneehole has a moulded plinth and is supported by four shaped bracket feet to the front and two to the rear. A kneehole of good compact proportions and excellent colour throughout.
Condition: Excellent. Minor restorations to chipped veneers, waxing. The brassware apparently original.
