Description: A fine George III Sheraton period figured mahogany & tulipwood banded cylinder bureau bookcase. The top with central rectangular tablet with painted urn and swag decoration with six urn finials. Below the compact bookcase section with four pane astral glazing with feather carved crossover. The curved, tulipwood banded and boxwood strung cylinder fall opening to reveal the retractable main working area with a leather covered rising writing surface with an arrangement of pigeon holes and drawers. Below three long graduated banded and strung mahogany lined drawers with classic Sheraton ring plate handles, over a shaped apron and delicate splayed bracket feet. A Sheraton classic of outstanding quality, figuring and colour.

Condition: Excellent. Minor restorations, cleaning & waxing. The finials are later replacements to an original pattern.
