Description: A fine pair of George III Sheraton period demi-lune card tables, veneered with the finest West Indian satinwood.
The well figured tops, with tulipwood, satinwood and purple heart cross-banding, strung with box and ebony around the periphery. Both rear legs swing out to support the opened top which has a tooled baize lined playing surface.
Below, the frieze again banded tulipwood and purple heart cross-banding. The square section tapering legs with inlaid ebony and box stringing, finished with ebony toes. A very nice touch indicative of quality, is that the frieze to the rear of the table is finished in satinwood. A particularly well proportioned and handsome pair of tables retaining excellent colour and patina throughout.
