Queen Anne figured walnut lowboy

Excellent original colour and patina

Stock Code: 2589

Description: A superb Queen Anne figured walnut low boy. The well figured top quarter veneered, feather banded and cross banded with moulded walnut end grain edge. The scolloped and shaped frieze with a central drawer flanked by a pair of drawers, all feather banded and fitted with apparently the original brassware. Each drawer aperture with out-stepped, rounded mouldings. The low boy is supported on 4 tapering castellated and ring turned legs united by a walnut cross stretcher and standing on bun feet.

Further Information: This type of table also known as a “lowboy” particularly when referring to later 18th century models, closely relates in form to another model noted as a “Reading Table” sold in the Parry Collection sale at Christies in 1997, achieving a high five figure sum. As the design of these tables matured into the 18th century, the evolved into the more abundantly found four cabriole legged version. This particularly rare piece is in lovely original condition.

Condition: Excellent. Possible minor old restorations, waxing. Stretchers apparently original, bun feet replacement
