Description: A superb George III satinwood, marquetry inlaid and penwork demi-lune side table, retaining excellent original colour and patina. The top of the finest West Indian satinwood, To the rear edge an inlaid boxwood fan decorated with marquetry and penwork, bordered with purple heart. Around the circumference a marquetry inlaid border decorated with vines, shells and flowers, banded with tulipwood, strung with ebony and box. The central section further decorated with inlaid marquetry of trailing vines and flowers. The frieze inlaid with inlaid sand heated boxwood veneered arches, with further marquetry flowers to the hip of each of the four square section tapering legs.
An absolutely beautifully made, quality piece of furniture.
Condition: Excellent. Minor restorations, minor repairs to marquetry, waxing.
