Regency mahogany, brass line-inlaid and rosewood crossbanded side cabinet

Description: A fine George III, Regency period mahogany, brass line-inlaid and rosewood cross-banded side cabinet, retaining excellent original colour and patina. The top with slightly curved back, with pierced brass low gallery, cross-banded with rosewood and with out-standing front side columns. The doors brass line inlaid and with a brass inlaid silk backed grills. These open to reveal an interior fitted with shelves. Flanking the doors are the front out-stepped turned, fluted columns which are supported by turned feet. The rear slightly less prominent columns of similar detailing and construction. Lovely quality and excellently proportioned throughout.

Further Information: The piece demonstrates superb constructional quality throughout and uses the best quality veneers. These attributes together with the fine detailing and the gently curved back, indicates that this piece was most likely made for an important house.

Condition: Excellent. Minor old restorations, waxing. The silk replaced.
