Description: A superb English George II walnut wing back armchair of excellent shape & proportions. The back with straight top flanked by out swept side wings, scrolling outwards to form armrests which terminate in an elegant tightly scrolled column. The seat section of a gentle bowed shape, supported on acanthus and flowerhead-carved cabriole legs terminating in ball-and-claw feet raised on casters and with swept rear cabriole legs terminating in a pad shaped foot.
A chair of a particularly good shape and form, being generous enough in proportions for comfort without looking large. The elegant walnut front & rear cabriole legs being a notable feature. The chair is covered in a wonderful handmade fabric woven on a traditional 18th century loom.
Condition: Excellent. The chair has been completely stripped to the frame, joints tightened or repaired where necessary. Re-upholstered in a wonderful traditionally woven floral fabric.
