George III Sheraton period mahogany dumb waiter

Description: A George III Sheraton period mahogany twin tier dumb waiter retaining excellent original colour and patina. The top revolving circular tray with, moulded edge joined to a lower tray by a tapering , ring turned gun barrel column. The lower tray, also revolving, fitted with plate and bottle coasters. Below the lower tray, the turned baluster stem continues with and is supported by a reeded splay leg tripod base terminating in brass caps and castors. Thomas Sheraton’s Cabinet Dictionary shows a design for a dumbwaiter with similar plate coasters.

Condition: Excellent. Possible minor old restorations, waxing.
