A pair of George III mahogany commode side tables

Description: A superb pair of George III mahogany bow front commode side tables. The top of square form, with rosewood banded and box strung border and bow front. Below the top, a full width box strung drawer with brass ring handles, a segmented tambour door which slides open to reveal a large cupboard space and to the bottom a further drawer which pulls out to form a tray, with scrolled lower apron. The cupboards are strung with box and banded with rosewood throughout and stand on square section tapering legs with spade feet. They are superbly made and have a lovely colour and patina.

Further Information: Hackwood House & Park is in Hampshire UK has origins dating back to the 14th century. The house that currently stands on the site is primarily constructed in the late 17th and early 18th century. The house latterly owned by Lady Camrose, wife of the Aga Khan.

Condition: Excellent. Minor old restorations, waxing.
