Description: A fine George III rosewood & amboyna banded octagonal table. The top of octagonal shape cross-banded with a double band of amboyna bordering a central rosewood band. The top edge with an inlaid amboyna band. The frieze consisting of eight panelled sections, with an inset rosewood panel again banded with amboyna and bordered with ebony stringing. One of the panels is constructed as a drawer which opens to reveal a compartmentalised interior.
The table is supported by a central octagonal rosewood column, with inlaid amboyna fluting and stands on a four inlaid legs formed in the shape of a claw, terminating in brass capped castors.
A wonderfully elegant and compact occasional table of excellent colour and detailing throughout.
Condition: Excellent. Possible minor old restorations, apparently in fine original condition throughout.
