Description: A fabulous pair of early George III giltwood wall brackets. The shaped top of serpentine outline, with moulded edge and beaded frieze below. The supports are headed by flowing ribbon carving, supported by a double inverted carved C-scroll to each side with a central carved floral arrangement. The supports then taper down to a further carved C-scroll formed point. The brackets have a particularly elegant, flowing and well executed design, with crisp detailed carving throughout.
Further Information: This pair were most likely, originally part of a larger set made for a house or estate in the UK which accounts for minor differences in the carving. They are most certainly executed by the same hand or workshop and are of superb quality and excellent compact size.
Condition: Excellent. no known restorations.
