Description: A fine Queen Anne figured walnut bureau. The top, fall and drawer fronts veneered in figured walnut, cross and feather banded. The top opens to reveal a compartmentalised interior with a central concave curved drawer bordered by a pair of drawers with a row of pigeon holes above. This is bordered once again either side by a pair of concave fronted drawers with pigeon hole above. There is a central well with a walnut retractable slide.
The fall is supported by retractable lopers to the frieze, the bureau has a walnut waist moulding, with 2 short over 3 long, oak lined, feather banded drawers, fitted with engraved gilt brass plate handles. The bureau stands on bracket feet. An elegant, appealing early piece retaining excellent original colour and patina.
Condition: Excellent. Minor restorations to chipped veneers, waxing. The feet and brassware apparently original.
