Description: fine George II mahogany card table of excellent colour, patina and compact dimensions. The rectangular top with out-stepped front corners and a rounded edge, opening to reveal a suede lined playing surface with four corner candle pads.

The well figured frieze, with central drawer fitted with pierced brass plate handles and with a gadrooned bottom edge. One rear leg swings out to support the top when open. All legs of cabriole form with ball and claw feet, and wonderful acanthus leaf carving forming a shield, and crisp c-scroll reed and leaf carving to the ears to both front and rear knees. A wonderful piece of furniture in excellent condition throughout.

Condition: Excellent. Possible minor old restorations, waxing. The suede lining is a recent replacement. Brassware apparently original.
