Description: A fine pair of Regency burr pollard oak card tables. The top of rectangular shape with rounded front corners, strung with partridge wood and cross-banded in kingwood. The top swivels and opens to reveal a baize lined playing surface, with compartments beneath.
The frieze with a central rectangular panel, front corner panels and a rear panel to the back of each side of the frieze, all cross-banded in partridge wood and a further partridge wood cross banding runs around the lower circumference.
The tables have a tapering square section central column, with a pinched lower half and gadrooned ankle on a scalloped platform base. They are supported by curved tapering legs with applied ebony pattarae to the knee and terminating in cast scrolling flower capped castors
A fine pair of particularly good colour and patina throughout.
Condition: Excellent. Minor restorations, including small repairs to chipped veneer, waxing. The baize playing surface has been replaced.
