Description: A superb Sheraton period demi-lune pier table, veneered in the finest West Indian satinwood, with inlays in burr elm and kingwood. The demi-lune top with a central, sand burned, box wood shell motif inlaid to a harewood background with emanating satinwood radial fans, with contrasting convex burr elm scallops to the outer edge, finished with boxwood strung kingwood banding. The frieze with satinwood panels, kingwood banded and boxwood strung, with inlaid flower decoration on each leg hip, the four supporting legs of square, tapering section strung with ebony and with neat ebony ankle cuffs to each leg. A very fine table of the highest quality, possibly Irish because of the shape, construction and arrangement of veneers.
Condition: Excellent. Possible minor old restorations, waxing.
