Regency mahogany pot cupboard in the manner of Gillows

Description: A fine quality English mahogany bedside pot cupboard in the manner of Gillows of Lancaster. The well figured top with reeded edge and three quarter low gallery, above a break front, cock beaded bowed door with brass knob handle. The door is flanked either side by a flame veneered vertical panel, the cupboard is supported on classic Gillows tapering fluted legs. To each side is fitted a brass swan neck lifting handle. This piece is virtually identical to a stamped Gillows piece that we have stocked previously.

Further Information: Gillows of Lancaster were probably the most celebrated of all English furniture makers. They were established in the early 18th century, and pieces made by Gillows are very desirable and extremely sought after.

Condition: Excellent. Cleaning and waxing, possible minor old restorations.
