A magnificent Queen Anne walnut escutcheon back writing chair, the back with book matched veneers flowing into shaped solid walnut arms. The seat in the form of a shell with later needlework covered drop in seat. The frieze rail with highly figured veneers and central demi lune embellishment, standing on shaped cabriole legs with pointed pad feet. The chair has a wonderful shape, excellent original colour and patina. A rare opportunity.

A very similar chair was sold by Christies, London in the Jeremy & Hotspur sale of the 20th November 2008.
