A very good George II carved walnut footstool, retaining good original colour and patina. The rectangular shaped outline with rounded corners and a moulded lip to the upper edge. The stool is supported by four cabriole legs, with carved shells to the knees and a curled scroll outline to the thighs, terminating in pad feet. The drop in seat has been newly covered in a superb quality, traditional 18th century design fabric from “Gainsborough” collection. A lovely stool of excellent proportions. |
