Bob Richardson was born in Salford, Lancashire in 1938. After 5 years at Salford Art College, he went to work in the advertising industry in both Manchester and London. Bob developed as an avid artist in the pastel medium, carrying out commissions and holding exhibitions whilst still working. In 1975 he decided to become a professional artist and since then his reputation has grown and he has gained great respect and acclaim in the art world. Bob is a voting member of the Pastel Society and a regular exhibitor at the Confederation of British Artists and Mall galleries in London. His paintings are now in many significant collections including those of Baroness Thatcher, Rolling Stone Bill Wyman, Granada Television, Manchester Stock Exchange and Salford Art Gallery. “He achieves a standard of excellence which holds its own against the best masters of his genre” – Daily Telegraph
