A stunning Chippendale period figured mahogany secretaire cabinet of wonderful narrow proportions, constructed throughout of the highest quality Caribbean mahogany, of excellent original colour and patina. The cornice with a blind fret frieze in the Chippendale manor, below a pair of panelled doors, with a raised and fielded centre panel and re-entrant top corners, open to reveal an arrangement of adjustable shelves. The double secretaire drawer opens to reveal an arrangement of burr yew veneered drawers and pigeon holes and a leather lined writing surface. A further three graduated cock-beaded drawers with original gilt-brass rococo style handles are below, and the secretaire stands on ogee bracket feet. A truly superb piece with excellent original colour, patina and pedigree
