A stunning and important Regency burr pollard oak centre table of excellent original colour & patina beautifully carved and decorated throughout. The circular top with book matched burr veneers, bordered by a beaded edge, with circumference burr frieze with lower roped edge detail. The top is supported by a central inverted tapering reeded column with beautifully carved entwined oak leaf and acorn detailing to the lower half standing on a tri-form base decorated with further leaf carving terminating in carved paw feet with hidden castors. A table of this type is undoubtedly made by one of the countries top makers. The overall quality is superb, the crispness and intricacy of the carving is probably the best we have seen, combine this with the wonderful figuring colour & patina throughout then this indeed is probably one of the best Regency centre tables available on the market today.
