A very good Regency mahogany bracket clock, by Robert Stoddart, London. The twin fusee, 8 day, movement with original anchor escapement striking the hours on a bell. The case with broken arch form, with circular painted dial, with roman numerals to the circumference, makers cartouche “Robert Stoddart, Red Lion St”, original brass fish scale fretwork to the lower quarters and the sides. The rear has a broken arched glazed door revealing the elegantly peripherally engraved movement. The extremely well figured mahogany case with a broken arch brass bound single pad top, with carry handle. The clock stands on brass ogee bracket feet.
