A fine William & Mary walnut & feather banded chest on stand. The top with book matched, figured walnut veneer, bordered by feather banding with an applied moulded cornice. Below two short over four long graduated oak lined drawers banded by semi-circular beading with brass drop handles with pierced back plates and oval engraved lock escutcheons. The main part of the chest rests on a low stand, with convex moulding to top and bottom and a slim frieze drawer bordered either side by further feather banding, the base is supported on turned bun feet. A lovely piece in wonderful condition, of excellent original colour and patina and of a convenient size for capacious storage.

Current Condition ► Excellent. Nice soft colour and patina. Minor restorations to loose veneers, cleaning & waxing. The bun feet and handles are old replacements. Escutcheons appear original.
