"Country Scenes" is a pair of enchanting watercolours of English rural life in the early 1900's. Painted by renowned Bedfordshire artist Henry J Sylvester Stannard. Henry was very well regarded and became a member of both the RBA and RSA exhibiting 15 works at the Royal Academy. His most characteristics works were rural village and cottage scenes painted in the tradition of Birkett Foster. One of the pair has a provenance note attached and are in original frames. |
